Was an excellent night, look forward to going back. Deliciously decadent Japanese fare. I went there for my birthday and don't regret my choice.
Koko has a nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, even explaining the dishes when they bring them to you.
If I do come back I would definitely have to try the teppanyaki menu. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it IMO. A very attractive and authentic setting but that is kind of expected.
The food tastes so appealingly fresh. About half way through, we were a bit concerned about the volume, fearing it wasn't going to be enough.
The next round of beef and meaty fish put those concerns to rest. The we got the magnificent pavlova dessert.
Crisp, creamy and chewy. And enough to satisfy most diners. A truly pleasant evening. The food and service was great. Was just a family dinner.
Cant remember who served us, but she was awesome at what she did and recommendations. We did a la carte, and cant complain, really good.
The wagyu stake was very tender, salads and seared meets were great. We did not do the tepanyaki, but that looked very interesting.
It is a bit on the pricey side, so take that into account. Will go again. The food is magnificent, service is exceptional dinning there makes you feel spoiled.
Thank you for your review. We are absolutely delighted to hear that you had such a positive experience at Koko and appreciated your feedback regarding our dining experience.
We will be sure to share your comments with our team, and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Faultless meals and fantastic service.
Seafood was fresh and of high quality. Attention to detail for tableware and dishes was beautiful. Is very pricey but worth every cent.
Amazing Sashimi and fabulous view of the river and city. Highly recommend for a special occasion. The food was amazing!! The non-teppanyaki table located close to teppanyaki section, terrible smoky smell.
Though there are some tables located distance away from the teppanyaki section. The A la carte menu was so so, nothing to shout about.
Pricing wise exaggerated I think. Fantastic experience, had a seat which is overlooking the Yarra river. My partner and I had a wonderful dining experience.
Food was unreal. Nice amd attentive staff. Highly recommended. Food was great. We particularly loved the entrees - the oysters were so melt in the mouth amazing, the scallops and beef tataki were delicious as well.
The fish on the assorted sushi was super fresh. The wagyu sukiyaki was refreshing. We didn't particularly like the alaskan black cod because it was super sweet, however the fish it self was so soft.
Ambiance and service were top notch. Excellent food in a lavish setting overlooking the Yarra river. Staff were first-rate. It's a little bit on the pricey side, so would reserve it for special occasions.
I have noticed a change. I have been to Kokos twice in the last two weeks. The food was lovely both times.
And I think competitively priced. The service however is just a little off. Nor do I like sitting in the segregated part of the restaurant for westerners.
Delicious and fresh seafood. Had the weekday lunch set. Had an enjoyable lunch at this fine dining restaurant in the Crown casino complex.
Food was refined and beautiful with Wagyu beef with mushroom warm dish. Very fresh sushi Ambience is awesome: very relaxing with the restaurant floor centred by a wading pool with water lily artwork.
Overall beautiful experience. We have dined here before and have always had a good experience. This time with family in town we tried the private dining option.
The private room was a nice intimate space with fabulous views over the Yarra River. We chose the Sumire set menu The service was fantastic and we quickly had drinks, hot towels and our Sashimi starter.
We had Sashimi which was very fresh followed by Tempura Calamari and then Blue Eye with a Miso sauce which was very good.
This was followed by Scallops and Prawns and then either Beef Eye Fillet or Chicken. Just before dessert we had Fried Rice.
The whole experience was very good, we were not rushed and enjoyed a lovely evening. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
Love the ambience, decor and the flames each hour. Teppanyaki is always delicious, a la carte superb! We came here for a Christmas meal at 6pm Christmas evening.
We were told the sitting would last 2 hours - which it did to the second. I had never been for teppanyaki before so the concept for me was novel.
Set meals were no The was a seafood menu too but I found the whole ordering process quite unclear as I had not been before.
We were a group of 4 and I left it to some one else to order. Since I don't eat meat I did not try the chicken, beef or duck - but the others said the duck was fatty.
I tasted scollops, calamari and tuna. The tuna was EXCELLENT but the others were average. We also had vegetables and friend rice.
Portions were small e. I left hungry as I couldn't eat a lot of it but the rice last serve was more filling.
We had hoped we could order more as we went along - but was told we would not be able to do this. Drinks were dear.
Due to the meals being cooked in front of you - I left smelling of the fried food. Teppanyaki and drinks over a freindly business catch up.
Other diners were also very friendly. Not a busy day but well serviced. Staff good and food excellent even a bit expensive. The food was excellent as was the surroundings situated in South Bank.
If you like Japanese food I would highly recommend. Friendly and welcoming waitstaff and Chef who prepared our dishes. We enjoyed our dinner at Koko with delicious dishes prepared in front of us.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Koko has earned a strong reputation in providing an exceptional dining experience and of course producing delicious dishes, I am absolutely delighted to learn that they did not disappoint.
